About the Weekend

This retreat was born out of our regular Friday night classes where folks would often joke about turning the practice into a sleepover. Realizing the benefit of an extended pause, we decided to create a weekend that would fully support Rest and Re-Connection to ourselves through simple practices. Our weekend at Windhorse is an invitation to simply allow yourself to unwind, be held and really settle in to a state of deep Rest.

Research shows that we need to take a break and decompress so we can be at our best at work - and at home. Maybe we should ask if the life we’re working so hard to create is fun to live?

When’s the last time you disconnected and took a vacation?

 ~ Tina Hallis

Throughout the retreat you will have opportunities to deepen your inner-connection through daily Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, and Sound Healing classes, a Nia practice and mini-workshops on Energetic Empowerment and Intuition. Because this weekend's focus is on relaxation, we have also left ample time for you to explore the grounds and enjoy your Self.

If an opportunity for rest for an entire weekend is something you would love to do, we've compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help your decision making process.

Question #1: What is Windhorse?

Answer:Sometimes pictures speak louder than words. And sometimes the owners of the place you'll be staying at have done such an amazing job of describing who they are and what they do that all you have to do is add in a link.

Question #2 Who is this retreat for?

Answer: This weekend is for anyone (women, men, unicorns, etc.) who just needs to get away and focus on time for Y.O.U. It won’t be a self-helpy kind of weekend so you don’t need to worry about sharing feelings and that sort of thing. We have curated the weekend schedule to include rejuvenating practices of rest and connection with plenty of Free time to do nurturing things for your Self - and ALL the activities are optional!

Question#3: Do I need to know how to do yoga or meditate to attend?

Answer: No! Yin yoga is a very accessible form of yoga. Most of the postures are done seated or lying down. Yoga Nidra is also a very accessible form of meditation as it is practiced lying down. You are verbally guided through the whole practice and supported with the sounds of the singing bowls. Also, if you don't want to participate in a class - you don't have to!

Question#4: What kind of food will be served?

Answer: While the retreat itself is not prescribing to any diet, the menu will be vegetarian with vegan and gluten free options. You do not need to be a vegetarian to come on this retreat, and we promise, the food is going to be really fresh and delicious!

Question#5: What can we do during our free time?

Answer: During free time you can explore the beautiful old-growth forest trails, hug Mother Maple, take a sauna, read a book, go swimming (in the lake or the pond by the sauna), explore the garden, bang on one of the gongs on the property, have a nap, book an Intuitive Card Reading with Jenn (extra charge - $40 for 30 minute reading, $60 for 60 minute reading - please contact Jenn to book your time jennmillerart@gmail.com) or anything else you need to Reconnect with your Soul and Recharge your Self!

While this is an opportunity to disconnect yourself from your technology, there is wi-fi in Juniper Lodge (though it is slow) and spotty cell reception, so if you want to spend your free time scrolling, you can!

Question#6: What’s the policy regarding alcohol and cannabis?

Answer: We are not supplying alcohol or other substances but this is not a designated “dry” weekend retreat so you are welcome to bring a little of your own pleasures. Please enjoy responsibly and take note, one of Windhorse Farm’s rules is that there be NO smoking or vaping in any building or near anyone for whom it might cause discomfort.

Question #7: What do I wear?

Answer: We're keeping it casual and are partial to t-shirts and stretchy pants. You’ll want to bring clothes that allow for movement and comfort. Yoga pants or shorts will be great for our morning Yin practices and for our evening practices you can even wear your p.j.’s if you like!

Question #8: How much is it?

Answer:

ONE LAST MINUTE SPOT HAS OPENED UP!

Contact us for more details - direct link below.

We have capped our registration numbers to make sure there is enough physical space for everyone to be in the yoga room comfortably.

Question #9: How do I sign up?

Answer: It's super easy! Send us an email at nidraandsound@gmail.com and indicate which room type you'd like to reserve. We'll send you a note back to confirm your requested room is still available, then you can secure your spot by sending us an e-transfer with your payment.

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” ~John Lubbock
